The history of this typical farmhouse goes back to the 16th century, when it is was used as a refreshment point for walkers and pilgrims. Today it’s part of a farm estate producing wine, olive oil and fruit (for sale), and with its restoration it has been divided into five simply furnished apartments (with satellite TV and phone). The spacious grounds are very well-kept and offer several spaces with gazebos and tables for al fresco dining. On one terrace, with panoramic views over the surroundings, there’s the swimming pool (15/5-30/9).
The position between
Siena and Arezzo, at ca. 3 km from the medieval village Serre di Rapolano (basic shops), makes it ideal for day trips to
Siena (30 km) and Florence (90 km), but also to charming landscapes such as the
Chianti and Crete hills, and characteristic villages, for example
Chiusi or Cortona, both with Etruscan museum.
